What if you could use only one word - Intelligence = Knowing, Learning = Change, and Wisdom = What? So knowing is to change what? I love this post. Thank you!
Love the instinct to further distill, Penny. These three words are SO important and so often confused, conflated, and misunderstood. If we're going to learn and increase our intelligence, let's make sure we're aiming at things worth attaining!
Today got me thinking about a quote Ann Lamott uses for writing: “It’s like driving in the fog, you can see just far enough ahead to keep driving.” Thank you everybody - I really enjoy these calls, seeing/hearing each of you, even Shannon’s why’s.
I had not heard that Anne Lamott quote before. A great metaphor for writing, creativity in general, and living. I really enjoyed our community calls as well, Jeff. Thanks for your participation in contributions!
Thank you, Molly. I have unpacked this idea before, but feel like this was the most clear and empathetically antagonistic articulation. I appreciate hearing that it landed as intended!

Great article, thank you.
Thank you, Claire. I’m grateful to hear that it landed. I’ve spoken about this before, but the articulation felt more direct and clear.

What a helpful and clarifying post. And kinda fun to think about, too. Thank you!!

"Intelligence plus learning without wisdom is the most dangerous combination of all, because it works."
I love this part! Reminding us all to take a moment to think about what we are doing and why.
Indeed, David. We need to check in with ourselves frequently to make sure that we’re still climbing the right mountain, for sure!
