“While we wait on life, life passes.”—Seneca
In a recent post, my friend, mentor, and previous employer Seth Godin declared that March is “Strategy Month.”
I agree that there’s no better time than March to pause, reflect, and realign your plans with your 2025 life and business priorities.
If you’re a solopreneur, coach, or creative, Q1 likely started with big ambitions. Maybe you mapped out a bold plan, set aggressive revenue targets, or committed to a new marketing push.
But now, as Q1 nears its end, where do you stand?
Are you ahead of plan? Stuck in neutral? Spinning your wheels on activities that aren’t paying off?
March is the time to step back and ask:
What’s actually working?
What’s wasting my time?
What needs to shift so Q2 improves over Q1?
Let’s clear the clutter, sharpen your focus, and set a strategy that maximizes your impact in Q2—without burning yourself out.

Did Q1 Go as Planned? Here’s How to Course-Correct Before Q2.
Most solopreneurs hit one of three scenarios at this point in the year:
The False Start: You had big plans, but life got in the way.
Maybe you started January fired up, but your momentum fizzled. Unexpected distractions, client demands, or just daily busyness pulled you off course.
📌 Your Q2 Strategy: Instead of trying to “catch up” by doing more, focus on doing less—but better. What’s the one high-leverage activity that will drive results? Double down on that.
The Stagnation Cycle: You’re working hard, but growth feels slow or uneven.
You’re consistently putting in effort—posting on social, engaging with leads, taking sales calls—but the results aren’t matching the work.
📌 Your Q2 Strategy: Instead of adding more to your plate, optimize what’s already working. If something has driven even small wins, refine and scale it before chasing a new approach.
Ask yourself:
What marketing effort brought in the most revenue this quarter?
How can I double down on that without adding extra work?
The Scaling Challenge: You’re growing, but the workload is getting heavier.
Some solopreneurs see success early in the year—but growth comes at a cost. You’re closing more clients, but it feels like you’re working harder for every dollar earned.
📌 Your Q2 Strategy: Create leverage. If your business is growing, but it still requires you to be in every sales call, every piece of content, and every marketing effort, it’s time to streamline.
Ask yourself:
What can be automated, simplified, or eliminated?
How can I reduce time spent on marketing while keeping results high?
The Q2 Success Path: What You Should STOP Doing
The most successful solopreneurs don’t focus on doing more—they focus on doing the right things.
If you want a simpler, more productive Q2, start by cutting out what’s not serving you:
Stop posting on social media just to “stay visible.” If your content isn’t leading to conversations, rethink your approach.
Stop chasing leads who aren’t serious buyers. If you’re having endless DM chats or discovery calls with people who won’t buy, you need a better filtering system.
Stop trying to “be everywhere” online. Master one platform that works, and let everything else be secondary.
Stop working without reviewing your numbers. If you’re not tracking what’s working, you’re making decisions based on feeling, not facts.

How to Build a Smarter Q2 Strategy
Step 1: Identify What’s Working
Look back at Q1 and ask:
Where did most of my revenue come from?
What marketing efforts actually led to clients?
What felt easy and enjoyable versus what felt draining?
Step 2: Cut What’s Not Working
Not all activity is productive. Find the 20% of effort producing 80% of your results—and cut the rest.
Step 3: Optimize What’s Left
Instead of adding new strategies, streamline the ones that are already working.
Step 4: Get the Right Support
The most successful solopreneurs don’t do it alone. They work with coaches, mentors, and trusted guides who help them see what they can’t see on their own.
